Biyikli Animal Rescue
The Rescuer:
“I found Biyikli (which means ‘Moustache’ in English) sitting on the hood of a car in 2020. He was very cold and hungry, so I took him home immediately and fed him.
When I found him, he was tiny, not even two months old. The next day, we took him to the vet for a check-up. From that moment on, Biyikli was part of our family.
Unfortunately, two months later, he was diagnosed with FIP disease. The vet was not able to identify it right away, and it took another 20 days for another clinic to confirm the diagnosis. We started treatment immediately. However, the initial dosage was not high enough because the infection had crossed the brain barrier.
The next six months were not easy, but then we received another medication from abroad, and thanks to that, Biyikli regained his health. It’s a miracle that he survived.
In 2023, during the earthquake, I couldn’t find Biyikli for five days. Our house was significantly damaged, but despite the chaos, I returned every day and finally found him on the fifth day.
I am so happy to be his mother. I promised to advocate for other animals in need through the page I created for Biyikli.”
