Bornova Stray Animals
News and updates March 2026
Bornova Stray Animals is under enormous pressure. Clinic debt has already risen to over 95,000 TL (approx. €1,867). Müjgan is currently caring for five cats with FIP – some are still in the clinic, while two are being treated in cages at the entrance of her home so they can receive their medication. One of the cats also has a nodule in the lung and urgently needs a biopsy. At the same time, more and more animals are being abandoned, including pedigree cats. At her previous feeding spot, 13–14 cats are still waiting for help; at her current location, there are more than 30 animals, including around 20 in the garden. She rescued and rehomed one poisoned kitten, but the clinic costs remain with her. Please support clinic care, FIP treatment, food, medication, and sterilisations.
The rescuer:
“Hello, my name is Müjgan, and I’m reaching out to you from Izmir. At 58 years old, I have dedicated my life to the noble cause of protecting those who cannot protect themselves—our street animals. For years, I have tirelessly worked to feed, treat, and neuter these vulnerable beings, but the challenge is immense, and my efforts cannot reach every corner alone. I am seeking support from compassionate individuals around the world to help me continue this mission. Together, we can save lives and bring hope to those in need. Thank you for your kindness and consideration.”
