Nese Gülsen Animal Rescue
News and updates January 2026
Pasha was discovered one evening in a park — a purebred cat abandoned on the streets. He has already survived feline distemper (panleukopenia) and is now battling an even more dangerous disease: FIP.
When his lungs filled with fluid, he struggled to breathe properly, and an emergency procedure was performed to drain 17 ml of fluid from his chest, which saved his life just in time.
Currently, Pasha is not in intensive care, but he remains under close veterinary supervision. His condition requires regular check-ups, repeated tests, and special nutrition to support his body throughout this exhausting treatment.
Although the GS medication cannot be covered, ongoing veterinary examinations, diagnostic tests, follow-up care, and special food are essential for keeping Pasha stable and giving him a real chance of survival.
Due to existing veterinary debts, these costs can no longer be managed alone. Every contribution helps cover the necessary tests and special food that keep Pasha strong enough to continue his fight.
Nese is an independent rescuer working on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. She cares for stray animals living on the streets by providing regular food, arranging both urgent and long-term medical treatment, and supporting them throughout their recovery.
In addition to daily feeding, Nese intervenes whenever animals are injured, sick, or in immediate danger. She coordinates veterinary care, covers clinic stays when necessary, and does her best to find safe homes for those animals that can be rehomed. Her work is driven by a sense of responsibility and persistence, often taking place under challenging conditions with limited resources.
