Simba, Paw Friends Animal Rescue
The rescuer Adalet:
“I found Simba one day on the street. He was tiny, frightened, and barely a month old. In his little eyes, there was a silent plea, as if he were saying, “Please take me with you.” I couldn’t walk past him. I took him home, and the mother cat I was already caring for accepted him immediately. She nursed him, kept him warm, and made him feel safe. In that moment, I felt a quiet, indescribable peace as if fate had written us into each other’s lives.
As Simba grew, he filled our home with joy. His playful spirit never faded; he chased shadows, ran after bouncing balls, and curled up in my lap whenever he grew tired. But he had one very special trait: he was a little glutton. An empty food bowl was simply unacceptable, and with his sweet meow, he always made sure I knew it was time for a refill. His jealousy was legendary, too. If I showed attention to another cat, he would instantly wedge himself in between us, as if to say, “Don’t forget about me.”
With time, Simba grew up, and I brought him to a friend’s farmhouse where he could enjoy nature freely. Today, he lives there happily, peacefully, and free. Sometimes I think back and realise that on the day I found him on the street, I myself was found as well. Simba wasn’t just my cat—he reminded me of the purest, most genuine form of love.
Even now, when I look up at the sky in the evening, I find myself thinking, “I hope you’re still playing wherever you are.” I know that no matter where life has taken him, Simba is happy because we found each other. That kind of love never fades.
